Hello,  Friends!!!

No, she didn't! The thought of someone coming into my home and deciding what I should purge just frightens me.  There are a few rules or realizations that you must accept when hiring someone to help you declutter and organize.

#1 -  It is OK for your space to look lived in!

Let's be honest...we live in our spaces. We don't want to make you throw everything away. We want to help you find a system that works for you and contain things in an organized way. Sometimes, you may be asked if something brings you joy or not. If not, bye-bye! Time for someone else to enjoy that piece you have had for 20 years. But them sometimes, we help you organize it or refurbish it in a way that has new life for you and your space.

 

#2 - It is also acceptable for you to define your non-negotiables with your contractor. 

This is, after all, a service that you are paying for -- get what you want out of it!  Also, don't ever feel bad for being unorganized.  We all live crazy-busy lives. We need housekeepers, grocery runners, and yard helpers. So why wouldn't we need organizing gurus? That's where we can make a difference!

#3 - If "purging it"  gives you anxiety, then we can teach you how to hide it! 

Just because you "need it", doesn't mean you have to look at it every day.  There are some tips and tricks to making a cluttered space look neat and organized in a manner that allows you to grab and go.  One of my favorites is what I call the "clutter box". I have one on my nightstand.  It contains all of the things I need every night...medicine, chapstick, lotion, candy that I'm hiding from my husband and children, some stashed cash for when the kids tell me they need lunch money last minute, and much more.  The point is, I don't want to see all of the things, so I hide them in my pretty little clutter box in the night stand.
